Bulldogs lead sea eagles at break, 28-18

    Posted by: Ruckhead | Oct 30, 2013 6:07am

It was like watching a football game at full speed, the entire stadium in the wrong place. With the score 28-18 the game wasn't even close.

What a game! There was so much to love about it and so many positives that come with them as players of the game, coaches of the game, fans and fans of the game. Here is my take on the game in a nutshell.

    The teams:

    A) New Jersey Devils - 7 goals. 2 assists. 3 goals on the power play. 1 on the penalty kill. A strong front 6. The team has struggled in terms of shooting and penalties, but there isn't a glaring issue with the players, so the offense and defense should be OK. B) Ottawa Senators - 6 goals. 2 assists. 1 penalty kill. There isn't too much to say about the team from what I've read, but the goalie and penalty kill were both good, so that wasn't too bad. C) Boston Bruins - 5 goals. 1 assist. 2 on the power play. I thought that was a fairly weak unit. D) Florida Panthers - 4 goals. 2 assists. 2 on the penalty kill. 3 goals on the power play. E) Winnipeg Jets - 3 goals. 1 assist. 1 penalty kill. Not too many positives, but it is better than the teams listed above.

    The game's opening 30 minutes:

    Dane Cizikas

Cizikas was at his absolute best against the Philadelphia Flyers. His first period was all power-play goals and a huge lead for the Bruins. The second period was all faceoffs, then the rest of the game, well, pretty boring. Cizikas had a couple big games throughout the whole game, including an assist to Mike Condon in the final minute of the game that tied the game at 7. The second period ended in a 1 goal, 2 assist for Condon. One of the biggest positives for the team was the 4 goals to Boston's Nick Bonino. One of the big problems the Bruins had was getting on the board on the power play, even without scoring. This got the whole scoreboard off the wall and Boston got a break to score again. The Boston defense stepped up after the break and outplayed the Philadelphia goal. Cizikas got a little carried away, however, and didn't take the penalties that were at his disposal. He got three to tie the game.

The game had a short break from intermissions, but the Bruins needed one for their goal. Matt Fraser scored a nice goal early in the second period to send th

Call for airbnb crackdown to target wa investors holiday homes by hotel-hoarding

    By Michael Ruppert

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A California lawyer has taken his fight against holiday home owners evicting him over a fraudulent marketing scheme to San Francisco's streets, a case that threatens to take on even the smallest share of the U.S. vacation industry.

Erik Sauerman, a San Francisco attorney representing four Bay Area residents seeking to block a lawsuit seeking $150 million in damages against Airbnbs Inc in Sacramento County Superior Court, took the San Francisco case to federal court in Oakland on Tuesday.

Airbnb said the lawsuit was not about any legal action but rather to pressure hotel investors in San Francisco who are taking steps to evict residents who want to share their properties with family, friends or short-term renters.

The lawsuit alleges that in 2011 Sauerman and his clients were notified by Airbnbs they would be able to claim up to $1,000,000 of the profits on a home they bought.

The lawsuit says the payments would have been made, regardless of whether Sauerman had actually sold their house, even though his claim would have been against Airbnbs for misrepresenting to the investor the amount of the home they had purchased.

"I think this isn't necessarily about real estate. It's about a legal strategy to collect some tax dollars," Sauerman said in a phone interview.

The suit also accuses Airbnbs and Sauerman of deceiving the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Airbnb did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Sauerman says the lawsuit will now reach his office in Oakland. It also will have to go before a California appellate judge.

"Our client is not against Airbnb. As long as a home stay of more than six months occurs, it's no problem at all for Airbnb to pick up the tab for the entire cost," Sauerman said in an emailed statement.

Airbnb had also declined to comment.

The lawsuit has the support of housing leaders and business groups that say the companies are serving a crucial role in keeping rental houses out of the hands of short-term renters.

Airbnb's growth in the United States is a key driver of a glut of properties in use, which is forcing some companies to step up marketing efforts aimed at attracting guests.

Some experts expect demand from such hosts could remain flat for months until an actual housing shortage starts to emerge, although there is anecdotal evidence that demand is rising, especially for large-scale vacation rentals, as they are more affordable than most other forms of housing.

Man accused of assaulting hospital worker Copyright by WDTN - All rights reserved Photo courtesy Of WDTN/Sheri Blevins (WPBN) + - ] Video

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal lawsuit contends two Texas emergency room nurses assaulted a hospital medical tech in a parking garage on Thanksgiving Day and caused a panic panic among the hospital's staff that led to the patient being transported by ambulance.

The lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Texas on Monday alleges nurses at St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Fort Worth, tried to transport Amedy Coulibaly to a nearby hospital following the attack on Jan. 30.

The lawsuit contends the incident began when a nurse, working in the hospital's emergency room unit, asked hospital director and Dr. Ravi Jain about an apparent heart defect that would require several hours of intensive care, but doctors eventually decided it could be treated in the emergency department.

According to the lawsuit, Coulibaly eventually managed to get to the emergency department where doctors and nurses, among others, watched as he was repeatedly punched in the head, punched and kicked by a nurse and then taken to a medical center ambulance.

The lawsuit says the victim was admitted to the hospital and later reported his head injury was the result of being assaulted and injured. Jain could not be reached for comment.

The lawsuit claims staff members refused to remove the man until Coulibaly was secured in the ambulance. In addition to the assault, the plaintiffs say a doctor, nurse and one other hospital employee also were injured.

The lawsuit was filed after an internal investigation in March 2015 by two hospital employees involved with the medical center said that nurse was the aggressor in a medical crisis during which staff allegedly kicked, punched and hit Coulibaly. That hospital staff member was told she could not go to the hospital after the incident, but she told another doctor about the incident and the doctor said she could go.

St. Luke's issued a statement to the Associated Press on Monday:

"We would like to commend our staff, including Dr. Jain, who handled the patient quickly when we were alerted of the situation, and who stood up for his rights and freedom. Our hospital cares for more than 400 patients daily and we take this responsibility very seriously. We know the medical office is not for everybody, and are proud to be working with our team of medical professionals and staff to provide them the best care. Our hospital is also committed to providing a safe place for all our patients – so if anyone has concerns about the safety of our patients in their care, they should contact their physician directly."

The lawsuit says nurse was subsequently transferred to Texas Southern Health Health Authority in Dallas, where she continue

Police believe arsonist destroyed historic seoul site on Friday

Authorities said a car driven by Lee Yong-bak and three men from a nearby neighborhood struck a temple on Friday, burning an 18th-century building for months in its foundations.

Tibetan authorities have repeatedly called for better protection against arsonists seeking to damage sacred sites across the mountain.

The temple was destroyed on July 14, while the five men were taken into custody in mid-August after being charged with allegedly setting fire to another building.

Two people died when a man opened fire at a nearby church in August 2014 and one was killed in a suicide bombing.

Gives the lie to those who said, "all the government does is do what it thinks is the right thing to do. If a number has a flaw, then they can say what they think is the right thing to say." The numbers are always wrong or skewed by the "public opinion" of politicians. The whole point of polling is to show that the electorate supports policies. I doubt there's much chance of it in the future though.

Gotta say, "it's in the eye of the beholder." The number is interesting for sure. I agree with you that it does suggest the possibility that the number is probably a myth. Even a 5% "birth rate" could indicate something in the middle. In addition, the percentage would indicate we would have fewer children in 2000, so why would you have 5% births?

Japans stateless chongryon koreans long for reunification but not after all this time i guess, i dont see how they can keep being koreans i guess they can be a bit too loyal to each other i guess, i guess it's hard to imagine, after all it was a hundred years since they united and now everything's totally different and now there's a lot of animosity between the koreans and the korea, you know? "Korea" can be very tough to grasp. I feel like I've been stuck in this weird dream for so long that I didn't get out. You don't have to let go yet but just to feel peace, let go. Do you think that when koreans have peace, they'll be able to move away from each other and start a new family? What will they be like as the new family to live in? What will they be like when they reunite? I was still really worried and scared that they wouldn't be able to give up their memories or whatever and just get into a proper relationship. "Koreans" can have peace. All these years I've been here, everyone was really happy. But then a lot of people died, we moved out, everything was terrible. But then the koreans came, and it's just been amazing! It's just been so much fun now. All these years I've been here... "Koreans" have to give up some of their memories and feelings... How will they get along, if they leave one another, if they give up their memories, they can have peace? I know that they can't have peace yet, but I hope that they can start to grow as humans. Just don't worry, you can get past all this.
